Our First PSC

Born and raised in a small town, not ones to travel to far from “home” when Grant and I first received the news that the our little family would be moving to another CONTINENT, with a different culture, a new language, and 6,000 + miles away from the only place we’ve ever known …. we were in complete and total disbelief. It was shocking, yet instantly exciting and truly a feeling we have never felt before!

We had about four months to prepare for a move that would change our lives and lay the foundation in our new life as a Military family. The day we found out we would call Misawa AB home – was a day we will never forget! We recorded a video that started our new tradition as – our PSC (moving) announcements – we had our daughter announce our first duty station to family and friends!

Now that we had our assignment, we immediately began the preparation for our move! Between back and forth trips from SC to FL, doctors appointments, moving our “household goods”, vehicle storage, and no fee passports we kept ourselves busy from start to finish! This was our first move with the miltary and it was overseas which made it a little more challenging but I truly believe that it was a eye- opening experience and challenge that Grant and I both were doubtful at times that would even work out! But… WE DID IT!! I’m so proud of us!!! We both have grown in ways we never knew we would, and we’ve learned so much from this experience, and it’s just the beginning! Let the journey begin!

Misawa!
